Reading Power - Grades 1-11

Intensive reading is the best way to improve reading level, and BLC tutors teach students to read with depth and insight through extensive discussion and writing assignments based on book reading. The student’s base reading level—as determined by a Star reading level test—and the student’s personal interests are used to select materials that challenge and inspire the individual student. The student will be challenged to expand his or her thinking and intellectual horizons by encountering new ideas in the reading texts, and will build a foundation for life-long critical thinking and academic success.

영어가 모국어인 학생과 ESL을 졸업한 학생에 한하며 컴퓨터 리딩 레벨 테스트 결과로 반편성이 됩니다. 한 쿼터에 4권의 책을 정독하면서 reading comprehension 문제와 단어, 작문 숙제를 해오고 일대일 첨삭지도를 받습니다. 책 읽기에 취미를 붙이고 리딩 레벨을 높일 수 있는 효과적인 수업입니다.
